Trouble sending mail?

Error 500 “relaying denied”?
In order to be able to use our outbound mail-server you either have to use an Akis leased line or use username and password to authenticate yourself before sending mails.
“Server requires authentification”.

Where are your servers?

In 1997 our first server went online. ‘akiste.akis.at’ was connected through a 0,75 mbit sdsl-line. The server used to be e-mail and webserver at once; meanwhile our servers are located at the 1st district of Vienna, connected via gigabit fiber. The no. 1 akiste – through the years there were 4 different akistes  – is now stored at our cellar.

What about backups?

Of course. Several times a day we make snapshots of all our servers. Once a night a backup is also saved offsite.

IPv4 or IPv6?

IPv4 addresses are scarce. The new IPv6 address system offers billions and billions of new addresses. Our servers are using IPv6 already and our leased line-access costumers can use IPv6 as well already.
